Program Description

Our youth program offers individual and group counselling, guided self-change, family intervention and consultation, case management and aftercare. We also conduct prevention sessions. Therapeutic modalities include cognitive behavioural, bio-psychosocial, solution-focused, etc. We provide services at local schools and other partner organizations, including correctional facilities. Social workers are part of the hospital integrated social work service and will accept referrals during daily rounds.

Access Information

There are other forms of assessment beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools, based on client need. Referrals are accepted from any source. Self-referrals by phone or in person are welcome. We can assist with transportation. Counsellors go into the following First Nations Communities during the school year one day a week: Grassy Narrows First Nations, White Dog First Nations, Whitefish Bay, and Shoal Lake.
