Program Description

This service is a multi-function outpatient counselling centre, offering treatment to anyone with addiction-related problems, including gambling. Treatment models used include cognitive-behavioural approach, socio-cognitive approach, and multi-dimensional approach, brief solution-focused, harm reduction/moderation, and abstinence. The client is seen weekly, moving to bi-weekly, and then as needed. Family members/significant others are accepted as primary clients.

Access Information

All referrals made to the agency are provided with a telephone intake and standardized psychosocial assessment. From this point individuals are referred to the agency or community based services that might best suit their needs. Uses ASIST, IDS, SCQ, ADS, DAST, stages of change tools. There are no other forms of assessment, beyond the MOHLTC-approved assessment tools, required to access this program. Must be assessed in-house or by phone.
